One and Only game King

I grew Up Playing Games…

As a young child, my favorite book was 1001 Family Games. Like who does that?

Flash forward 40 years and I was was tasked with helping curate the best family games for a live TV segment. I didn’t realize how many games were out there, but once I started digging in, I was hooked.

I helped create that annual holiday game list for about a decade, and then branched off on my own. That’s about when One and Only Game King was born. Make sure you’re following me on your favorite social media platform. (I initially was just going to be the Game King until I realized about 713 other people were already using that moniker in various forms online.)

I have clocked thousands of hours playing games with my family. I’ve got four kids and their friends were always up for games. Games in the car to pass the time. Games in lines at Disneyland. Group games after high school dances. Party games on Christmas Day. Games with people who love games. Games with people who hate games.

Let Me Help

My ideal game is one that can be explained in under 2 minutes and played in about 15. I like quick fun games that get people laughing and connecting.

Longer, heavier, strategy games are fine. They’re just not what I’m into. If you want to retreat to some room and study rule books for a few minutes and then settle in for long evening, good on you. I’ll probably pass.

But if you want to find the best game for your family, your kids, your grandkids, your relatives, your neighbors, your coworkers, your youth group, your book club, your play group, or whomever, then stick around. I’ll give you some recommendations I love.
